Acclimation Protocol Recommendations

Always handle the coral by the frag plug to avoid damaging the coral.

1) Open bag/cup and pour water into a separate container.

2) Place frags into the container.

3) Add just enough water from your aquarium to submerge the coral.

4) Wait 10 minutes for the coral to adjust to water chemistry and temperature. Gently baste the coral with a turkey baster to remove any detritus. Any DOA corals should be reported at this time; please email us (sales@ajsaquariums.com) a clear digital photo of the damaged coral.

5) Place coral low in the tank or on a side frag rack to allow the coral time to adjust to lighting after transport.

6) Waiting 24 hours before dipping corals, especially SPS corals, will help them tolerate the dip and recover faster after transport. This will greatly reduce the risk of RTN (rapid tissue necrosis) caused by additional stress.

Our corals grow out under Radion G4 Pros and G5 Blues. Below are the tank parameters we strive to maintain.

Alkalinity: 8-9 dKH

Calcium: 480 ppm

PO4: 0.10-0.25ppm

NO3: 10-20 ppm

Temperature: 77-81 Degrees F

SPS: Medium - High

LPS/ Softies: Low - Medium

Tank Placement

Acros: Higher in tank

SPS/ LPS: Mid-Range

Softies: Lower/Bottom of the tank
